né du désir de rendre compte, de manière personnelle,
des événements que je rencontre et qui me touchent afin
de partager avec vous ces instants…
Ce travail renoue ainsi avec la longue relation que l'art entretient avec
l'actualité, de Jan Van Eyck à Vélasquez ou encore
à Frans Hals, du réalisme français de Courbet du
XIXe siècle, à la peinture de l’Histoire de David,
Delacroix ou Géricault… Ce travail s’inscrit donc dans
la tradition des artistes visuels : utiliser l'actualité comme
matière… Comme modèle... Ces sujets ne sont pas exclusivement
la « Une » de nos quotidiens, mais plutôt une suite
d'événements mineurs, de faits-divers qui représentent
ma « Une », mon actualité... Cependant, il arrive parfois
que celle-ci croise l'actualité médiatique... La fréquence,
le contenu et les thématiques sont variés... Je m'accorde
toute liberté, tant du point de vue de leur traitement, que de
leur (thème) Sujet. Ces moments sont toujours, à mes yeux,
des moments attachants, furtifs et fugaces que l’œil de ma
caméra et que cette mise en ligne tente de vous conter, de fixer
ou de recréer.
Ici, pas de vérité, juste une communication partisane visuelle et sonore…

ACTU.
/ originated with the idea of
recording, in a very personal way, the events I am experiencing and that
are touching me, with the hope to be able to share these instants with
you… This work renews the long relationship that art has with current
events, from Jan van Eyck to Velasquez, without forgetting Frans Hals,
from 20th century French Realism to David’s, Delacroix’s and
Géricault’s historical paintings… This work belongs
to the visual artists’ tradition: that is to use daily events as
topics… as models… These themes are not only “news scoops”
but also a series of minor points, trivial events that are my own scoops,
my own news…
But it sometimes happens that “my news” meet with media news…The
frequency, the subjects and the topics are diverse… I allow myself
freedom, as much from their viewpoint as their content. To me, these moments
always are touching, furtive, and fleeting, so my camera eye and these
words are attempting to tell them to you, to fixate them, and to recreate
them.
These
mediatic works are a point of view, an artistic claiming, and an individualistic
glance, gentle to the community and to the whole society. They are confronting
the stillness of the image to movements, instants to eternity, distance
to action.
There is no truth here, but only a visual and a resonant partisan communication…
